A missed appointment
A fictional client missed two appointments and says they no longer have access to their usual transport. “Two missed appointments” is a given fact; loss of transport is a reported barrier. “They do not care about recovery” is an unsupported assumption. A useful question is whether another appointment time or format would address the stated barrier, within the service’s available options. The case does not establish what alternatives are available.
Version 1
Separate my notes into claims and questions. For each, choose an exact excerpt from the selected source and version. Distinguish what the excerpt states from what I inferred. Record support, an apparent conflict, no relevant support, or uncertainty as my own provisional judgment. Keep unsupported claims unresolved. Choose one existing lesson or practice activity to revisit; do not invent facts or questions.
Fictional example — not a factual claim: My fictional study note mixes a supplied observation with my own explanation. I have not stated the limits of that explanation or what information would change it.

Fictional Learning Measure A
Assume higher scores are better and both measurements used the same protocol. Baseline is 40 and follow-up is 46, so observed change is +6. The supplied fictional MDC95 is 8 and MCID is 5. Six exceeds five but not eight. Describe that distinction explicitly: the change exceeds the supplied importance threshold but does not exceed the supplied detectable-change threshold. This does not prove treatment caused the change or that it matters to a particular person.

Three misses, three different repairs
Miss 1: you read concentration as time. Repair: name both axes and units before interpreting a new figure. Miss 2: you knew an inverse relationship but predicted both quantities would rise. Repair: write the relationship and test it with simple numbers. Miss 3: you chose a CARS answer based on background knowledge the passage never supplied. Repair: identify the sentence or inference in the passage that supports each candidate answer. These repairs target different decisions; the same generic note would not do that.

Fictional example — not a factual claim: My fictional explanation jumps from an observation to a cause. I have not stated which variable is held constant or what the supplied material actually supports.

Original situation · a student event
You organize a student event. A volunteer missed two setup sessions. Another volunteer wants them removed immediately. Question 1: What would you do next, and why? Question 2: If the absence reflects a transport problem, how would that affect your response? A possible approach: speak privately, clarify the barrier and commitments, and plan the immediate setup work fairly. With the new information, explore workable alternatives while considering other volunteers’ time. Do not promise transport or an exception you cannot authorize.

Fictional example — not a factual claim: My fictional response assumes I know why the person acted this way. I need to separate the scenario’s stated facts from my interpretation.
