CPTE RESOURCE CHOICE · PRACTICAL WORKSHEET
Try one resource you already own before adding another
Run a small study-resource trial with a named task, review block and follow-up question, then compare what additional support would add.
Inventory one usable option
Choose one resource you already own or can use free. Note its purpose and the part you are authorized to use. This trial is a workflow check, not an exam simulation or readiness test.
Name a task and reserve review time
Write “By the end I want to be able to explain…” or “I want to identify the specific gap that needs another source.” Use a session length you can sustain. Reserve time for reviewing the reasoning instead of spending the whole block collecting answers.
Run the small trial
Use one manageable piece of authorized material. Keep a short record of where you needed clarification, what source you consulted and what changed after review. Leave unresolved questions explicit. Do not treat familiarity with a repeated item as performance on fresh material.
Decide what another resource would add
If the issue was lack of review time, another question bank may not solve it. If the issue was explanation clarity, inspect a sample explanation rather than comparing item counts. These are questions to test against your own experience, not universal purchasing rules.
Schedule the next useful task
Use the planner or saved workspace to reserve the next task. Bring the existing resource into the workbench as an option, including its limitations. A useful decision can be “use what I have for this task” or “ask one unresolved question.”
Use the comparison, then choose a task
Write the decision and a revisit trigger so the comparison leads to an action.
